Pannon Children's Choir

The Pannon Children’s Choir was founded in Pécs, Hungary in 2015.

Members of the choir come from primary and secondary schools of the city of Pécs.  In the past two years the task  the choir had to face was thorough and conscientions preparation and successful introduction to the public.  In June 2016 we gave an introductory concert in the House of Arts and Literature.

Chief patron of the concert was Mrs Zoltánné Kodály, the widow of the world-famous Hungarian composer.  The choir reeives plenty of invitations both from Hungary and abroad.  Our choir is a popular contributor to festivals and premiers.  We also gave concerts together with world famous Hungarian musicians, were singing in live radio programmes and made audio recordings.  Our repertoir includes traditional choir pieces by Zoltán Kodály, Béla Bartók, Lajos Bárdos and józsef Karai.

A .  Besides we also participate in performing  contemporary and world music. The Artistic Director of the choir is Mr Tamás Schóber, composer and music educator, who has been successful at national and international music contests with his choirs.  He and his choirs has visited in 30 countries of the world, where, apart from participating in important music events the also popularized Zoltán Kodály’s music education methods and concept.  His work has been acknowledged in several countries of Europe, Canadda, China and also in the United States.  He was conductor of one of the ambassador choirs at the EUROPA CANTAT 2015 held in Pécs, Hungary.  The PANNON CHILDREN'S CHOIR also introduced in the CARNEGIE HALL, NEW YORK in 2017.
